Project description
Take part in the reforestation of this forest that has been attacked by insects, with Reforest'Action!
The project at a glance
Number of trees to be planted: 3,100
Area of the plantation: 2.8 hectares
Species planted: larch, sycamore maple, cedar
Project type: reforestation after insect attack
Background
This parcel of 2.8 hectares is located in the Doubs. The spruce trees that populated it were devastated by an attack of bark beetles in 2018. The owners wish to restore the forest cover by setting up a mixed stand on this plot, with "irregular" management, more resistant and more welcoming to biodiversity.
This tree-planting project will create a perennial forest ecosystem. The planting of a mixture of species will provide a diverse habitat for local biodiversity. The stand will also be strengthened in the face of climatic hazards, diseases and insect attacks. The trees will store carbon, contributing to the fight against global warming.
