Because forests are affected by both climate change and human activities. Droughts, violent storms and parasites, but also wildfires destroy hectares of forests, with repercussions on the global environment. Trees protect the soil from erosion, create a sustainable environment and enrich biodiversity. They absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) releasing oxygen back into the air and they also absorb pollutants in the air such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and ozone. Planting trees across Europe it’s just the first step through a long term zero carbon footprint Strategy.
