Project description
Take part in the reforestation of this dying plot of land with Reforest'Action!
The project at a glance
Number of trees to be planted: 14,626
Area of the plantation: 16.5 hectares
Species planted: sessile oak, chestnut, small-leaved linden, sycamore maple, cherry, chequer tree, common maple
Type of project: reforestation of a declining stand
Background
These plots are located in two communes of the Marne, near Reims. Victims of poor management measures by the former owners and the storms of 1999, these plots are now in decline. The new owners wish to renew them by creating a beautiful irregular forest, diversified, but also productive in wood.
This tree-planting project will create a true forest ecosystem. The planting of a multitude of forest species will provide biodiversity with a rich and perennial habitat. The forest will also be more resistant, especially since it will be managed in an irregular manner. It will also produce quality wood and thus sustainably store atmospheric carbon.
