Forests represent a major solution to climate change and biodiversity erosion. As these twin crises intensify, forests must become a central issue in international discussions.

2022 represents a special year, with the fiftieth anniversary of the Stockholm Conference, which founded UNEP, and the thirtieth anniversary of the Rio Summit, which launched the three major United Nations framework conventions.
