KLM - reforestation - trees - forests

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, world key player in global air transport, launched on January 25th a special operation to restore forests in Spain and Portugal with Reforest'Action.

For every online reservation of a plane ticket on their website klm.es and klm.pt, one tree will be planted in Spain or Portugal to restore forest ecosystems.

This campaign is part of their CSR policy Takes Care.

After every flight reservation, KLM also encourage its customers to offset the carbon emissions of their travel through the campaign "Be a hero, fly CO2ZERO".

In Spain, KLM is supporting two projets, one in Navarra to consolidate the banks of a river near Artieda, and another one in Palencia to restore a burnt forest near Santervás de la Vega.

In Portugal, KLM is funding the plantation of trees following fires.

"The Air France-KLM group is actively working on designing the future of air transportation. We want it to become mindful, innovative and responsible. This reforestation action, that we are launching in the Iberian Peninsula, is an example of our commitment. It also shows how KLM truly collaborates in making air transportation more sustainable. Thanks to this campaign, we will be donating a few thousand trees in Spain and Portugal", assured Boris Darceaux, General Manager of Air France-KLM Spain and Portugal.
