From 4 to 16 March 2021, Stéphane Hallaire, founder and President of Reforest'Action, and Marc Palahi, Director of the European Forest Institute and President of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA), travelled to Ecuador to meet indigenous people living in the Amazon as well as representatives of the Ecuadorian government. Their goal? To move towards a common approach to help save the Amazon rainforest.
After a first edition in 2021, the Global Forest Summit will be held on March 24. Co-organized by Reforest'Action and the Open Diplomacy Institute, and with a ten-year ambition, it will bring together all stakeholders to monitor the main global forest trends by 2030 and encourage action.
22 March is World Water Day. This global celebration was set up by the United Nations in 1993 to highlight the importance of fresh water for all living things and the need to make it accessible to all.
The hedgerows began to disappear from the French farming landscape in the 1970s. This was a time when many farmers were forced to increase yields if their holdings were to survive. We have since become aware of how important and useful hedgerows are on many levels, and they are now starting to reappear in our countryside.
