Project description

Participate in the reforestation of this plot destroyed by bark beetles, with Reforest'Action!

The project at a glance

Number of trees to be planted: 14,800 plants
Planting area: 12.84 hectares
Species planted: larch, Douglas fir, sycamore maple
Type of project: restoration of a stand degraded by insect attack
Planting date: April-May 2020

Background information

This parcel of more than 12 hectares is located in the commune of Cult, in the Haute-Saône department. Previously populated by spruces, it suffered intense summer droughts in 2018 and 2019. The population being weakened, did not resist the attack of the bark beetles. The owner thus wishes to restore the stand, this time by planting larch trees, Douglas fir trees and sycamore maples.

This tree planting project will create a real forest ecosystem. The establishment of several species will diversify habitat and resources for local biodiversity. This will also make the stand more resistant. The wood production will be used to fuel local activity.
