Context

The CPIE is an association working since 1976 in different fields related to the Environment: environmental education, biodiversity of environment and species and sustainable development of territories.

Within the framework of its Nature and Biodiversity Mission, the CPIE has set itself the objective of renaturation of natural infrastructures in the Meuse department. This site in Argonne is favourable for the implementation of nature sites including numerous plantations linked to the development of wetlands which will come to reinforce the existing afforestation.

Once the plantations are completed, the wooded areas are subjected to a free evolution leading little by little to a "forest stage". The CPIE wishes to develop natural sites of plessage (linked to new plantations) allowing o take into account the agro-forestry management techniques which will replace the intensive management methods which impact the development of hedges and the habitat of certain sensitive species. In this respect, hedges and small wooded areas are particularly suitable for shrikes.
