Résumé du projet
Located at the south-western edge of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park, the plots of land in the commune of Les Brunels present two very different cases. One of the plots to be reforested, formerly planted with spruce trees, was clear-cut by the previous owner in 2014, following an attack by bark beetles. This plot, located on the plateau, will be surrounded by deciduous windbreaks to protect it from prevailing winds and maintain biodiversity. As for the other plots, they are abandoned farmland, as well as areas of windfall and dying coppice. The aim here is to create a new forest ecosystem on valley-bottom plots, whose northeast exposure is conducive to growth. This tree-planting project will increase the wooded area. It will create a wonderful haven for biodiversity. The species selected for this plantation will also be used to produce wood.
