Résumé du projet
These forest plots cover 2 hectares and are located in the Vosges department. Managed as a monoculture, their spruce trees are dying. Bark beetles have invaded the stand. By burrowing under the bark of the trees, these xylophagous insects block the circulation of sap, causing the affected trees to wither. What's more, with the exception of a few young fir shoots in certain plots, the stand shows no signs of regeneration, threatening the future of the forest. By planting Douglas fir and European larch, this reforestation project will diversify the forest, making it more resilient to climatic and biological hazards. This approach will also enrich the surrounding biodiversity by encouraging a greater variety of flora and fauna. The trees will also store carbon, helping to combat global warming.
