The plot is located near Deauville, 10 kilometers from the sea in Normandy. The common spruces that once made up the majority of this forest are in full decline, following attacks by bark beetles. The bark beetle is a species of bark beetle that causes dieback, which can lead to the death of the trees and therefore the stand. The aim of this project is to restore a degraded ecosystem by introducing a variety of new tree species. This will revitalize the wood, notably by integrating species adapted to the site, which will increase the stand's resistance to disease and climatic hazards. The resulting forest will be more resilient, capable of creating diverse habitats and providing varied food for local biodiversity, thanks in particular to the creation of new deciduous zones. Ultimately, the trees will ensure forest continuity in the area and contribute to the formation of a resilient forest heritage.
