Le processus de reconstitution sera long et complexe. En effet, il existe plusieurs type d’écosystèmes comme le maquis méditerranéen, la forêt résineuse et la forêt feuillu qui nécessitent chacun une méthode particulière: inventaire des zones à restaurer, récolte ou utilisation des des bois brulés sur place, prise en charge de la régénération naturelle ou des arbres survivants, choix des essences à réintroduire, type de travaux du sol, méthode de plantation, entretien. Il s’agira ici de se baser au maximum sur l’existant.

The project is located in the province of Oristano in central-western Sardinia, in a mountainous area. It follows a historic fire in July 2021, which destroyed over 13,000ha of the local forest ecosystem.

The process of reconstitution of this project in Italy will be long and complex. There are several types of ecosystems, like the Mediterranean scrubland, the resinous forest and the deciduous forest, all of which need a specific method. Those include inventories of areas to restore, harvests or use of burnt woods already there, management of the regeneration or surviving trees, choice of species to introduce, types of tillage, planting methods, care. The goal here is to work as much as possible with what's already there.
