Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe

Parallèlement à son engagement avec l’Appel pour « l’Océan, Bien commun de l’Humanité », la Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe a souhaité initier une démarche de développement durable et ainsi évaluer ses pratiques de travail dans nos projets. L’empreinte carbone de l’édition 2018 de la course va être calculée. Cet état des lieux servira de base pour la construction d’un événement plus sobre en carbone en 2022. Pour initier cette démarche de réduction et de compensation des gaz à effets de serre, OC Sport Pen Duick financera par ailleurs un projet de reforestation d'une mangrove en Indonésie en association avec Reforest’Action.

In parallel with its commitment to the Call for the "Ocean, Common Good of Humanity", the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe wanted to initiate a sustainable development approach and evaluate its work practices in our projects. The race carbon footprint of the 2018 edition will be calculated. This inventory will serve as a basis for the construction of a more low-carbon event in 2022. To initiate this process of reducing and offsetting greenhouse gases, OC Sport Pen Duick will also finance a mangrove reforestation project in Indonesia in partnership with Reforest'Action.
