The project at a glance

  • Number of trees to plant :  3050
  • Area of plantation : about 3 ha
  • Species to be planted : Salzmann Pines
  • Type of project : restauration of a degraded stand, conservation of a rare species

Context

The planting work carried out on these plots devastated by a fire in 2014, has several interests. In addition to revitalizing a very degraded massif, planting will make it possible to reintroduce a rare species, Salzmann pine. The latter is the only native black pine in metropolitan France, its range extends from the Ardèche Cevennes to French Catalonia.

The plantation will thus make it possible to revitalize a very degraded space, to welcome a rich and local biodiversity and to support the safeguard of a native species!
