History of the plantation plot:

One part of Lande forest is natural. Indeed, Some zones of the Gascon coastline were already forested two thousand years ago and occupied nearly 200,000 ha.
the Landes forest is mainly private and aims for production. It is even the largest production forest in Europe. In 2009, after devastations of the storm Klaus in reginal forest patrimony, the forest is left forsaken. Since this date,  luxey's project as some one plots haven't been planteds

The plantation project :

We planting in several communes on this project, mainly to Luxey, but also to Sanguinet and Saugnacq-et-Muret. The company that plant trees with we here is our partner Beynel and we planting mostly maritime pines that are particularly well suited to the region's low fertile soil. The maritime pine is an endemic species of the region since it is also called the Landes pine. It was mostly planted in the 19th century following the work of the agronomist François Jules Hilaire Chambrelent because it is a tree that appreciates an exposure in full sun, in an ordinary soil.
