Discover more about the operation “1 ticket = 1 tree” by our partner KLM

Stratégie et RSE

Since January 2018, KLM is commited to Reforest’Action to restore forests in Portugal. Discover more about their operation “1 ticket = 1 tree” through the testimony of Boris Darceaux, General Director of Air France–KLM.

“At KLM, we are pioneers in implementing measures that reduce environmental impact. Our social responsibility policy with the environment contributes to the recovery and sustainable development of the territories where our aircrafts take off and land.

KLM integrates its CSR strategy into business and operations, divided into four pillars: environment, customer experience, employee engagement and local development. For KLM, the main objective at the environmental level is to reduce the carbon footprint by improving our operations.

For each ticket our customers purchase, we will thus finance a tree to help the recovery of the ecosystem in the Iberian Peninsula.

The trees will be planted in Portugal by Reforest'Action in collaboration with the Regional Administration and forestry experts in the area. This project will allow the recovery of the ecosystems devastated by the wildfires of 2017. The intention is to restore the biodiversity of the area with native species that favour the fight against climate change. The project shall be completed by March 2019.

Help us reach the highest possible number and contribute to the recovery of the great beauty of our country's ecosystem!”
