With Reforest'Action, reforest this parcel devastated by the storm !

The project at a glance

Context

In Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, after several days of heatwave,  the region of Isère was hit by a storm on July 1st. As a result, this explosive cocktail of thunderstorms, violent winds and hail blew away the trees of this plot. Today, the renewal capacity of the stand is poor, except in a few limited areas.

In order to support the natural regeneration on this barren land, a project of reforestation is carried out. The restoration of the forest ecosystem is based on a method which  takes climatic changes into account and introduces diverse specie, planted  in a mix or in separate units, to strengthen the stand. This experimental project will provide a model for future reforestation projects in the region. Over time, the project will contribute to the development of a rich biodiversity and fight against climate change through the carbon stored by the trees.
