Context

This former agricultural plot, located in the department of Allier, is part of the Bocage of the Bourbonnais. This natural region composed of traditional landscapes is typical for its agricultural spaces separated by hedges.

This land was left to fallow after years of agricultural exploitation. A diversity of species adapted to the climatic conditions is planted in order to revalorize the plot. In addition, the introduction of fruit trees encourages the development of a rich biodiversity on the plot. This approach contributes to increase the wooded cover on the area, offering a continuity with the surrounding wood. In the long term, the forest will contribute to the fight against global warming thanks to the carbon storage by the trees. And it will soon help produce a sustainably managed timber whose harvested wood will also store CO2!
