Résumé du projet
The project is located in Stadtkyll, Germany. The stand was monospecific, a type of plantation with little capacity to defend itself against biological attack due to its low resilience. As proof of this, the stand was invaded by bark beetles, which, when they attack living trees, cause them to die back. The insects burrow under the bark, preventing the sap from circulating. To remedy this situation, seven native species, adapted to the site's climate, will be planted. This diversity of species will increase the massif's resilience in the face of possible climatic or biological hazards. In the long term, the reconstitution of this stand will enable biodiversity to return to the massif, and the trees to store carbon, thereby combating global warming.
