Résumé du projet
The forest in this project has been devastated by Ash blight and requires reforestation. Located in the Irish county of Sligo in the northwest of the country, it is one of the many so-called "magic forests" of the area, some of which are home to heritage sites. They are mostly hardwood. The project operates in an environmentally and archaeologically sensitive area and must meet several requirements. A mixture of native hardwoods is introduced to make the plot more resistant. And fences are installed around the planting area to protect them from the many deer in the area. Eventually, this stand will develop micro-habitats for biodiversity, and will effectively contribute to the fight against climate change thanks to the carbon stored by the trees.
