Résumé du projet
In the Mayenne region, these Torcé-Viviers-en-Charnie plots are home to forest ecosystems that have been weakened by bark beetle attacks. The ecosystems to be restored are located within a Zone Naturelle d'Intérêt Écologique, Faunistique et Floristique (ZNIEFF - Natural Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest), to the south of the Regional Nature Park and Geo Park Normandie-Maine. In some stands, sanitary cuts had to be made. This was followed by the introduction of a variety of tree species into what was once a predominantly spruce forest. In the long term, the project will enable a healthy, diversified stand to be reconstituted, making it more resistant to future biotic hazards. A true carbon sink, this sustainably managed forest will store carbon over the long term. Finally, the trees planted will also ensure forest continuity in the area.Principales essences :
Cedrus atlantica, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Picea sitchensis, Sequoiadendron giganteum
