Résumé du projet
In the Millevaches Regional Nature Park in Limousin (Corrèze), several plots of land have been reforested following an attack by bark beetles. By digging galleries under the bark of the trees, these xylophagous insects block the circulation of sap, causing the affected specimens to wither. This biological hazard led to the sanitary harvesting of the stand. A total of 6,080 trees have now been planted on these plots. In the course of reforestation, the species planted are diversified to enable the stand to better resist biological and climatic hazards. This approach will also contribute to the development of a rich and varied local biodiversity. The stand will also store carbon, helping to combat global warming. In the long term, the trees planted will also ensure forest continuity in the area, playing a full part in the creation of a resilient forest heritage.
