Résumé du projet
The Yvelines department of Ile-de-France is home to these two abandoned plots of farmland. Currently lying fallow after being depleted by agricultural work, these one-hectare former cereal-growing lands harbor little biodiversity. Before the project began, their ecological value was therefore low. A diversified orchard, made up of apple and pear trees of different varieties, has been planted on the plot. This diversification approach will enable the development of a rich biodiversity. Pollinating insects will also be encouraged by the introduction of plants that attract them. In future, the orchard will be enriched by a hedgerow that will act as a natural windbreak and encourage the presence of biodiversity. The trees will store carbon, helping to combat climate change. They will also ensure forest continuity in the area and contribute to the creation of a resilient forest heritage.
