Situées dans le Parc Naturel Régional de l'Avesnois, ces parcelles totalisent 8,9 hectares et étaient majoritairement constituées de frênes. Le peuplement a été touché par un champignon, Chalara fraxinea, pathogène responsable d'une maladie fongique appelée « chalarose ». Le champignon est responsable du flétrissement des feuilles, de la nécrose des tiges et du dessèchement des branches. Ces atteintes mènent à la mort de l'individu touché. Ce projet de plantation reconstituera donc un peuplement sain et résistant à la chalarose. La diversité des essences choisies permettra l'accueil d'une plus grande biodiversité et permettra la constitution d'un peuplement plus résilient. De plus, ce projet de plantation permettra la production de bois et le stockage de carbone. Enfin, les arbres plantés participeront à la formation d’un patrimoine forestier résilient.

Located in the Avesnois Regional Nature Park, these plots total 8.9 hectares and were mainly planted with ash trees. The stand was affected by a fungus, Chalara fraxinea, a pathogen responsible for a fungal disease known as "chalarosis". The fungus is responsible for leaf wilting, stem necrosis and branch desiccation. This damage leads to the death of the affected individual. This planting project will therefore reconstitute a healthy stand resistant to chalarose. The diversity of species chosen will encourage greater biodiversity and create a more resilient stand. In addition, this plantation project will produce wood and store carbon. Finally, the trees planted will contribute to the creation of a resilient forest heritage.
