Mostly composed of maritime pines, this Morbihan stand has been weakened by a lack of species diversity, facilitating the spread of armillaria. This fungus causes wood rot and the death of affected trees. As a result, a stand harvest had to be carried out on the project's forest plot. The 9,200 trees planted will make the forest more resilient by diversifying the tree species. Chosen for their resistance to summer drought, these species will ensure the stand's future in the face of climate change. This variety of tree species, combined with the conservation of the few deciduous trees already present, will enrich local biodiversity. In addition, the trees planted will store carbon, helping to combat climate change.
