Résumé du projet
This Tuscan forest lies at the heart of a vast natural park, nestled between the province of Florence and the slopes of Mount Falterona. Renowned for its diverse low mountain vegetation, over 48 varieties of trees and 1,000 species of herbaceous plants have been identified. Until now, this poorly diversified beech forest has mostly produced firewood. The natural regeneration project is based on the implementation of new forest management. More sustainable, this will enable the stand to be diversified and the species to be supported through the implementation of work. Ultimately, this forest in the making will become more resilient in the face of hazards. The stands, composed of different vegetation strata, will contribute to the forest's ambience. The various species planted will provide multiple habitats for biodiversity. Finally, the trees introduced will store carbon, helping to combat climate change.Principales essences :
Fagus sylvatica, Quercus robur, Quercus petraea, Quercus cerris, Castanea sativa
