Résumé du projet
In the Vendée department of the Pays de la Loire region, the reforestation project is taking place on a derelict agricultural site. The project includes 15 diversified species adapted to the site. The aim is to test deciduous species such as downy oak and holm oak, which are generally found further south in France. Initially, this project will increase the wooded area of the Vendée. The wide range of tree species will enable the stand to better withstand summer droughts and global warming. As each tree species has its own diversity, this forest in the making will also be home to a wealth of local flora and fauna. Last but not least, the trees will contribute to sustainable wood production and carbon storage, helping to combat climate change.Principales essences :
Quercus petraea, Quercus pubescens, Quercus ilex, Sorbus torminalis, Pyrus pyraster, Tilia cordata, Quercus pyrenaica, Pinus pinaster, Quercus robur, Pseudotsuga menziesii
Nombre total d'essences :
15
