Résumé du projet
The association 'Les planteurs volontaires' approaches private and public landowners to encourage the planting of bocage hedges, orchards, avenue trees and isolated trees in the Hauts-de-France region, where farmland is sparsely wooded. Today, 38,900 trees of various species are part of this reforestation project. Their presence will limit soil erosion and leaching. In addition, by acting as natural windbreaks while limiting pest attacks, these hedges will protect crops. The diversity of the planting, combined with the introduction of melliferous species, will encourage the development of biodiversity. In addition, the planting of these trees will enable the ecosystem to store carbon, thereby helping to fight climate change.
