Résumé du projet
The rural commune of Asselborn in Luxembourg is mainly made up of meadows and forests. Within this town, the project aims to reforest a parcel of land initially made up of spruce trees. Affected by an attack of xylophagous insects, the bark beetles, the forest had to undergo a sanitary cut. Thanks to the planting of 1,300 trees of diverse species, the reconstituted forest will be more resistant to hazards and richer in biodiversity. Restoring the forest will sequester carbon and help combat climate change. Once mature, the trees will also contribute to sustainable timber production and the local economy.
