Résumé du projet
In Belgium, between the Haute Sûre Nature Park and the Anlier Forest, three previously monocultured plots have been devastated by insect attack. Victims of bark beetles, a parasite that feeds on the soft wood under the bark, these former spruce stands were cut down. The aim of the project is to convert these declining monospecific woodlands into mixed woodlands. The approach is based on diversifying the stand by introducing 7 hardwood and softwood species. In addition, the re-established stand will host a rich local biodiversity and help combat global warming thanks to the carbon stored by the trees.Principales essences :
Picea abies, Larix eurolepis, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Fagus sylvatica, Quercus petraea, Acer pseudoplatanus, Prunus avium
