Located close to a 6-hectare forest in the Allier department, this reforestation project aims to enhance the value of an abandoned former farmland. The planting of 2,700 trees of three different deciduous species will create a diversified stand that is more resilient to natural hazards. This approach will also encourage the development of a rich and varied biodiversity. The trees' root systems will protect the soil from erosion and leaching. In the long term, the trees planted will store carbon, helping to combat climate change. When they reach maturity, they will contribute to the local economy by producing timber in a sustainable way. Finally, the trees planted will ensure forest continuity and contribute to the creation of a resilient forest heritage.
