Résumé du projet
West of Clermont-Ferrand, the plots are located within the regional nature park of Volcans d'Auvergne. Made up entirely of ash, this monoculture stand was particularly sensitive to natural and biological hazards. Chalarosis, which affects ash trees, had destroyed almost 80% of the stand. The project consists of restoring the forest while diversifying its species composition to make it more resistant to insect and disease attack. This mix of deciduous and resinous trees will help to reconstitute an ecosystem conducive to the development of biodiversity. These young trees will also store carbon, helping to combat global warming. Once mature, they will contribute to timber production.Principales essences :
Pseudotsuga menziesii, Picea abies, Acer pseudoplatanus
