Résumé du projet
This project takes part in the overall diversification of pine monocultures in order to make the forest ecosystem more diverse and resilient. Besides, because of climate change, recurring droughts and attacks of insects, the forest rangers observe more and more damage in these populations. These attacks aren't massive yet, but they affect a large part of the trees. Consequently, small cuts are done and regenerated with deciduous trees (mostly oaks). The regeneration must be protected because of an important population of deers. Moreover, during the populations' first years, they didn't need a specific management in order not to be overwhelmed by competing vegetation. Eventually the trees planted will store carbon, which will help fight climate change. They will also ensure forest continuity in the area.Principales essences :
