This project is located in Trélon, in the Avesnois Regional Nature Park, a few kilometers from the Belgian border. On this plot, whose spruce trees have been affected by the bark beetle, the owner wishes to plant a diversified stand of Douglas fir and sessile oak, to bring diversity to this very hardwood stand (composed of oak, beech, hornbeam and wild cherry). The sessile oak was chosen for its resistance to intense drought, which is less well tolerated by the pedunculate oak, which is very present on the massif. The regenerated stand will ultimately be more resistant to insect attack and climatic hazards. The trees will be able to host biodiversity and contribute to the fight against global warming thanks to the carbon they will store.
