The project is rooted in the municipal forests of Szczecin. The project plots have been identified in the recently drawn up forest management plan as priority areas. The project consists of restoring two plots affected by the bark beetle, a xylophagous insect that causes irreversible dieback of affected trees. In addition, one plot will be afforested, i.e. it was not previously wooded, and its afforestation will help to extend the forest cover of the Sczcecin massif. The aim is to enhance the ecological and landscape value of the area and contribute to sustainable forest management.

Contexte local
The plot is located close to a vast forest complex known as "Puszcza Wkrzańska", i.e. literally, the "Old Wkrzańska Forest". The plots are in close proximity to expanding residential areas. It is therefore essential to preserve and improve the quality of these natural buffer spaces, as they are a major issue in the expansion of the Szczecin conurbation.
