This hedge planting project is taking place in the commune of Vouillers, in the Marne department, in a park located between the village and an agricultural area. The landowner wanted to plant lines of diversified hedges in this highly agricultural area, where there is little room for biodiversity. This project will make it possible to reconstitute a green network of interest to local biodiversity. The newly planted trees will also help to improve the structure and fertility of the soil, which has been damaged by intensive farming. Lastly, they will help to combat global warming by storing carbon.Principales essences :

With an estimated forest area of around 150,000 hectares, the Marne department ranks 75th in terms of afforestation rate. At 19%, it is well below the national average of 31%.
The project is located in the commune of Vouillers, a highly agricultural commune 20 kilometres from Vitry-le-François and 10 kilometres from Saint-Dizier.
