Hedgerow
This project, located in the Vienne region of France, aims to reinstate trees in large agricultural plots to recreate a bocage.

The valley of the Salleron in which this plantation is located was originally heavily wooded, but large gaps were created to allow agriculture to develop. Today, the habitat is less and less dispersed and has regained some of its ecological functions thanks to the planting of a network of hedges that maintain a connection between the wooded areas.
Initially, the plots will be cleared of undergrowth if necessary, then the soil will be turned over and crumbled to a depth of 20 cm to allow the roots to develop better. The bare-root seedlings will then be prilled before being planted, and protected from game and rodents with protective netting. Finally, a generous layer of mulch will be applied to cover the soil and prevent competing weeds from growing.
The straw will then be renewed for the first two years after planting, and regular visits will be made to weed between the plants and check the condition of the stakes and protective sheaths.
