This project is an agglomeration of 5 distinct sub-projects, which consist of introducing hedges into the south of the Mozelle. Depending on the project, these hedgerows will help to complete the green and blue grids, and generally improve ecological continuity in a hedgerow network that is sometimes discontinuous. Others will serve as a separation between organic pickling and conventional cereal farms, as a perimeter for a school's educational garden and as the edge of a cycle path. More generally, the melliferous species planted will be useful for local fauna, including pollinators. They will add structure to the soil and improve its ability to filter water and limit run-off.

Contexte local
The H.A.I.E.S association, based in Moselle, is grouping together several plantations of hedgerows as part of this project. Today, 5,821 trees have been planted around these plots, using a mixture of 19 species. This diversity will enhance local biodiversity by creating ecological corridors. Spanning several communes, this particularly varied ecosystem will create a degree of environmental continuity within the region. At the same time, the trees planted will store carbon, helping to combat climate change.
