Résumé du projet
The project takes place in the commune of Chartrettes, in Seine-et-Marne, on plots of good land. These areas have been won over by bramble as a result of the safety of large aspen trees by the roadside and the mortality of chalarose ash trees. The aim of the project is to produce timber by introducing species that are better adapted to global warming into the heart of the enrichment gaps and by working with existing trees based on natural regeneration. The project will restore the forest atmosphere and encourage biodiversity. What's more, the restored forest will help combat global warming thanks to the carbon stored in the atmosphere.
Principales essences :
Quercus robur, Fraxinus excelsior, Populus tremula, Acer platanoides, Acer campestre, Acer pseudoplatanus, Tilia cordata, Robinia pseudoacacia, Mespilus germanica, Malus sylvestris
Nombre total d'essences :
10

Sur le terrain
Contexte local

The massif in which the project is located is heterogeneous. This makes it possible to produce a variety of wood species (broadleaved: oak, chestnut, alder, birch, aspen, lime, ash, sycamore, plane, hornbeam, etc., and softwood: Scots pine, Laricio, etc.).

The presence of roe deer is significant, but the Groupement Forestier has a hunting plan sufficient to contain the population. For this project, Tubex protection will be installed on the plants to reduce the risk of rubbing and browsing. The upper parts of the plots, on the edge of the plain, are more exposed to drought than the lower parts near the river.

Actions sur le terrain

The assisted natural regeneration work will take place over several years:

2024 :

  • Marking of partitions;
  • Opening of the partitions ;
  • Opening of plantation gaps plus geolocation;
  • Soil preparation using a mini excavator;
  • Purchase of stakes and protection.

2025 :

  • Planting and installation of protection;
  • Clearing of natural regeneration gaps.

2026 à 2029 :

  • Annual clearing of natural regeneration gaps and plantation gaps.
  • Management of direct and diffuse light.

2030 à 2034 :

  • Annual clearing of natural regeneration gaps and plantation gaps;
  • Direct/diffuse light management.
