This planting project, located at Vron in the Somme, follows on from previous plantings that have unfortunately failed in recent years. The recent owners wanted to plant the trees with a high level of diversity to avoid repeating previous failures. A mixture of sessile oak, chestnut, corm-tree and alisier torminal will be planted on the full plantation. On two other plots, around a hundred seedlings will be added to an old, slightly unsuccessful plantation in order to add resinous diversity (Douglas fir and Corsican pine). These plantations will help to rejuvenate the forest. The diversity of species will also encourage biodiversity, while strengthening the resilience of the stands in the face of climate change.

Vron is a commune in the Somme Bay Picardy Maritime Regional Nature Park. It lies 25 km north of Abbeville, and benefits from an oceanic climate.
