Cette parcelle de 3,23ha situé dans un ensemble feuillu de 80ha était majoritairement composé de frênes atteints par la chalarose. Le projet a pour objectif de reboiser cette parcelle avec un mélange de sept essences avec comme essences principales le châtaignier et l’érable plane. Ainsi créée, la forêt sera adaptée aux conditions particulières du milieu, et fournira des habitats et ressources nombreuses et diverses pour la faune locale. Elle sera également plus résistante aux attaques et maladies, ainsi qu'aux aléas climatiques. A termes les arbres plantés assureront également une continuité forestière sur la zone et participeront pleinement à la formation d’un patrimoine forestier résilient.

First appearing in Eastern Europe in the early 1990s, possibly originating in the East, this fungal disease has spread rapidly across Europe since the beginning of the 21st century, affecting ash trees. The fungus is responsible for leaf wilting, stem necrosis and branch desiccation, leading to the death of affected trees. This is a real tragedy for this emblematic species of our forests, which is in danger of disappearing.

This 3.23-hectare plot, located in an 80-hectare stand of broadleaved trees, consisted mainly of ash trees affected by chalarosis (a pathogenic fungus). The aim of the project is to reforest this parcel with a mixture of seven species, the main species being chestnut and flat maple. The forest created in this way will be adapted to the specific conditions of the environment, and will provide numerous and varied habitats and resources for the local fauna. It will also be more resistant to attack and disease, as well as to the vagaries of the weather. In the long term, the trees planted will also ensure forest continuity in the area and contribute fully to the creation of a resilient forest heritage.
