- Project type: restoration of an ecosystem degraded by bombardments
French forests were used as military refuges during Second World War, and both men and trees suffered. Indeed, even today shrapnels are still in the trunks. These injuries close up little by little but they degrade the quality of the trees and sometimes prevent their maintenance, damaging the blades.
Our project aims to revitalize this dying coppice of birches, a stand of trees of mediocre quality, genetically identical because generated by regrowth of stumps. The establishment of species of various hardwoods, will revitalize the wooded state and allow the reception of a rich biodiversity. Indeed, fruit trees and especially alisiers are very appreciated by many species.
