Project description

Reforest'Action offers to support the creation of afforestation on this wasteland.

The project at a glance

  • Number of trees to be planted: about 6,000
  • Planting area: 8 hectares
  • Species planted: Beech, hornbeam, birch, country maple and sycamore
  • Type of project: afforestation of an agricultural delay

Context

This parcel represents an area of 8 hectares.  It has been a few years since the former owner abandoned his agricultural activity, leaving this field in a grassy state. The current environment of this site has no dynamics, and is at risk of being invaded by unwanted species. 

This tree planting project will create a real forest ecosystem. The increase in the amount of woodland on these agricultural lands will contribute to the generation of timber that will store carbon in a sustainable way. Finally, the planting of various species of hardwood trees will help create a tremendous refuge for biodiversity.
