Project description

Participate in the reforestation of these plots damaged by storms!

The project at a glance

  • Number of trees to be planted: 24,911
  • Planting area: 18 hectares
  • Species planted: sessile oak, douglas fir, larch, cedar
  • Type of project: reforestation of plots degraded by storms

Context

Located in the Haute-Marne department, the two parcels of this project cover 18 hectares. The existing forest, made up of a mix of forest and beech coppice, has been severely degraded by the storms that have occurred in the last years. The soil is clay-limestone and its depth can be up to 40 cm: these plots have a fairly good potential for plant development and are suitable for planting. This planting project will make it possible to reforest these plots, which have been degraded by storms. In order to increase the stability of the forest ecosystem, various species have been chosen. This diversity will also allow the reception of a variety of fauna and flora. In addition, patches of deciduous trees have been preserved in order to maintain tree continuity within the plots, which are strongly involved in the installation and maintenance of biodiversity on the site.
