The origin of the project
In the Grand Est, these plots in the Meuse were heavily affected by bark beetle attacks. To deal with this, a sanitary cut was performed and the owner now wants to restore a diversified stand of oaks and conifers.
The project relies on the introduction of 8,800 plants. During the work, careful attention is given to the existing vegetation in order to preserve the ongoing natural regeneration that is taking place. This approach will allow the emergence of a temperate forest with a variety of species ito revive a degraded ecosystem and encourage biodiversity. The trees will be more resilient to climate change, capture carbon and contribute to the fight against climate change.
