Context

Valernes is located in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provenc, not far from the Luberon Regional Nature Park. It is inhabited by various coniferous and deciduous trees, such as black pine, Atlas cedar including deciduous trees such as downy oak, maple or allisier. Lacking management work in recent years, the stand has lost much of its dynamism. This is why work to enhance the value of the trees in the plot is necessary to stimulate the development of the forest. The trees maintained will produce quality wood, or have a strong heritage or ecological interest.

This tree-planting project will make it possible to create a real forest ecosystem, resistant and autonomous, conducive to the reception of a rich biodiversity. It will also make it possible to store more carbon by supporting tree growth and ensuring the sustainability of the forest cover.
