EXO Foundation

We believe that we all have a responsibility to fight climate change. We support EXO Travel in its efforts to become carbon neutral and to offset its carbon emissions in Asia. We also want to offer the possibility to all travellers to play a role by offsetting the carbon emitted during their holidays. We believe that together we can generate a positive impact in the region and help to reforest areas of land that need it most. We have worked with experts to calculate the carbon footprint an average traveler in Asia (using EXO Travel services) and for $1.5/day/traveler we will compensate their related carbon emission towards a forest management project and work with Reforest'Action to plant trees!

Description

EXO Foundation is an apolitical, secular and not-for-profit organization. It was established in 2011 by EXO Travel, a leading tour operator in Asia operating in 10 different countries: Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore. Although EXO Travel remains our major donors and covers all our operational costs, EXO Foundation acts as a separate and independent  organization. For each traveler, EXO Travel gives back $1 from its profit to EXO Foundation. This fund is directed towards the promotion of responsible tourism. Put simply, responsible tourism incorporates long-term strategies to maximize the benefits for local communities and the preservation of their cultural & natural heritage. It also seeks to improve the livelihoods of the most disadvantaged populations, while minimizing the negative social, cultural and environmental impacts tourism may generate.
