La forêt abrite 80% de la biodiversité terrestre. Elle protège la biodiversité et constitue l’habitat de nombreuses espèces animales et végétales. Il y a 4 siècles, 66 % des terres étaient recouvertes de forêt, aujourd’hui, seulement un tiers. Selon le World Resources Institute, 80 % de la couverture forestière mondiale originelle a été abattue ou dégradée, essentiellement au cours des 30 dernières années. Au total, quelque 129 millions d’hectares de forêts - une superficie presque équivalente en taille à l’Afrique du Sud - ont été perdus depuis 1990.

Pour cette raison, L’indien du Giennois s’engage à replanter 1 arbre pour chaque note payée par nos clients. Au restaurant, le client pourra planter son arbre et obtenir son certificat personnalisé de plantation
